As the 2024 Pennsylvania primary election date approaches on Tuesday, April 23, Berks County residents are gearing up to make their voices heard at the polls. With the polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., it’s important for voters to know where they need to go to cast their ballots.
To find out where you vote, simply enter your county and street address into Pennsylvania’s online polling place database at https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/Pages/PollingPlaceInfo.aspx. Additionally, Berks election officials have recently approved polling location changes, so it’s crucial to double-check your polling place before heading out to vote.
For those who have not yet registered to vote, the deadline is Monday, April 8. Eligible residents can register in person at the Berks County Elections Office or online at https://www.pavoterservices.pa.gov/Pages/VoterRegistrationApplication.aspx. Remember, a Pennsylvania driver’s license number, PennDOT ID card, or Social Security number is required for registration.
If you prefer to vote by mail-in or absentee ballot, the deadline to request one is Tuesday, April 16, before 5 p.m. Ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop box, at your county election board, or another officially designated location. Just make sure your ballot is received by the Office of Election Services or a designated drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
As the deadline for candidates to withdraw from the race approaches on Feb. 28, it’s important to stay informed about who is running for U.S. Congress, state House, and state Senate in Berks County. With several candidates withdrawing their names from the primary ballot, the field is constantly evolving.
So, as the Pennsylvania primary election draws near, be sure to register to vote, know where you need to go to cast your ballot, and stay informed about the candidates running for office. Your vote matters, so make sure your voice is heard on April 23.
