Sign in with a new device
Got a new phone or tablet? We’ll walk you through how to set up your new device.
To figure out how to sign in to your Robinhood account on a new device, you’ll need to follow directions depending on whether you had two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled on your old device, if you still have your old device, and whether you still have your backup code.
If you have 2FA enabled and try to login, you should get a 2FA prompt in the app, as shown in the following example:
Backup codes are another way to help keep your account secure. When you set up 2FA on your account, you’re asked to save a Backup code.
2FA pairs something you know (your password) and something you have (typically your authenticator app or an SMS code in a text message). If you don't have access to your authenticator app or can’t retrieve your SMS code, then use your Backup code to log in with your new device.
Using your backup code will automatically disable 2FA. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA again after you use your backup code on your new device.
